Spotlight: New Bars and Nightlife on Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas

March 2023 – Royal Caribbean International’s unveiled more than 15 bars and nightlife experiences that will light up the highly anticipated Icon of the Seas when the sun sets. The food and beverage experts and innovators bringing the hot spots to life share the first details of what’s to come, whether vacationers are looking for live music, like two pianists going head-to-head, or to bar hop for sips of coffee-infused cocktails or bubbly at a new walkup champagne bar. The new and reimagined favorites are the latest to be revealed among the 40-plus ways to dine, drink and be entertained that will make for an unrivaled lineup when the world’s best vacation sets sail January 2024.

The lineup features brand-new firsts and reimagined favorites, the latest to be unveiled as part of Icon’s 40-plus ways to dine, drink and be entertained.

Royal Caribbean’s Making an Icon: Creating Thrill Island

February 2023 – Bold vacationers call for bold adventures, and Royal Caribbean is delivering that and more at the new Thrill Island on Icon of the Seas. The world’s best family vacation will feature never-before-seen experiences and signature favorites, from the largest waterpark at sea, Category 6, to the first Crown’s Edge – an adventure course 154 feet above the ocean. In “Making an Icon: Creating Thrill Island,” the innovators cover the adventures in store and how they are pushing the envelope on cruise ship design by adding more weight at the top of Icon with six record-breaking waterslides and more water than ever before. The thrill-o-meter will be off the charts for thrill-seekers and their families who cheer them on in this new neighborhood when Icon sets sail in January 2024.

Royal Caribbean's Making an Icon: Creating Surfside

January 2023 – The world’s greatest family vacation, Icon of the Seas, is taking memory-making to the next level for grownups, kids and even grandparents. And when it comes to young families, Royal Caribbean’s insights and feedback from adventurers inspired a whole new neighborhood. In “Making an Icon: Creating Surfside,” find out why and how the cruise line’s creating its first neighborhood dedicated to young families. The goal: to design a place where every family member can spend time together and do what they enjoy all the same. From different water experiences to new restaurants, even a bar with menus for adults and kids, to classic adventures with a twist like the signature carousel and an arcade, and the first three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse, Surfside is set to make a splash debut in January 2024.

Royal Beach Club Paradise Island Set to Deliver All-Inclusive Paradise

December 2024 - The ultimate beach day debuts in Nassau, The Bahamas in December 2025. The 17-acre slice of paradise is next up in the Royal Beach Club Collection and joins Royal Caribbean’s lineup of destinations, which includes the award-winning Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas. The new destination experience will combine the Bahamian spirit, culture and locale with Royal Caribbean’s signature experiences to create an all-inclusive beach day.

The ultimate beach day is in store. Opening in December 2025, Royal Caribbean’s Royal Beach Club Paradise Island will be a 17-acre slice of paradise in Nassau, The Bahamas. With two beaches, three stunning pools, the world’s largest swim-up bar, cabanas and a variety of spots to grab a bite and drink, the first in the Royal Beach Club Collection is designed to deliver the perfect combination of family time, chill and celebration. The vibrant culture and spirit of The Bahamas are at the heart of the experience, reflected in every detail—from the architectural design and live music and entertainment to the local art and cuisine.

Sneak Peek: "Back to the Future The Musical" to Debut on Star of the Seas

October 2024 – Great Scott! Royal Caribbean is setting the stage to introduce cult-classic hit “Back to the Future The Musical” on the highly anticipated Star of the Seas in summer 2025. The Olivier Award-winning musical that is lighting up stages on Broadway, the West End and beyond will debut as a headlining adventure of many on the next ultimate combination of the best of every vacation when it arrives in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida. In store will be surprise Royal Caribbean twists to the musical hit, and along for the ride will be the show’s original creatives. From auditions in London and New York City to the first show, the journey to opening night will bring to life a time-traveling adventure for the ages for fans and every type of vacationer alike.

May 2024 – Starting July 2024 in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, vacationers can make a splash in more ways than one on Royal Caribbean’s new Utopia of the Seas. The ultimate short getaway features more pools than the days to count, with vibes of all kinds, a trio of adrenaline-pumping waterslides, the FlowRider surf simulator and more. Plus, the adventure continues at private island Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, with everything from seven stretches of beach to the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean and 14 waterslides.

April 2024 – Royal Caribbean’s new Utopia of the Seas will get the party of all parties started with unmatched weekend energy when it debuts with 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday getaways from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, in July. The ways to party and make memories day and night span 20-plus bars and more hot spots, including the brand-new Caribbean bar, Pesky Parrot, with surprises in store; two casinos with more than 400 games to play, The Lime & Coconut at the center of the action on the lively pool deck, The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar; and even spots for the whole family like Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade and more.
