Odyssey of the Seas Virtual Delivery Ceremony

March 2021* - Royal Caribbean International officially took delivery of its 25th ship, Odyssey of the Seas, in a virtual ceremony held on March 31, 2021. Fans had front-row seats to the celebration during an untraditional Facebook premiere event – a first in the cruise line’s 52-year history. Showcasing a global lineup, the event included the ship’s blessing led by Seafarers’ House at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, a show-stopping performance from signature venue Two70 on board Quantum of the Seas sailing in Singapore, and executives of Royal Caribbean in Florida and Meyer Werft Yard in Papenburg, Germany.

*June 2021 Update Odyssey of the Seas will now debut in July when it sets sail as the first Quantum Ultra Class ship to cruise from the U.S. The brand-new ship will cruise roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on a series of 6- and 8-night Caribbean itineraries during its inaugural season.

The next Perfect Day, located on Mexico’s popular Caribbean coast in Mahahual, Mexico, opens in 2027 as the latest in the vacation brand’s growing lineup of destination experiences, which includes the top-rated Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas that set the bar in 2019. Vacationers of all ages have in store a slice of paradise that combines Royal Caribbean’s adrenaline-pumping thrills and ways to chill with the vibrancy, culture and beauty of Mexico.

Royal Caribbean and Inter Miami Grant Wishes of Make-A-Wish Children B-roll

September 2024 – Together with Make-A-Wish, the global nonprofit that creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, Royal Caribbean and Inter Miami CF granted the wishes of 23 wish kids during a four-day experience between Saturday, Sept. 21 – Tuesday, Sept. 24, in South Florida. The highlights included a day on the record-breaking Icon of the Seas to plunge down six waterslides, watch a performance from the first theatrical rendition of “The Wizard of Oz” at sea, meet Chief Dog Officer Rover and more. Plus, they made an exclusive visit to Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium to meet the Inter Miami squad and their captain Lionel Messi, where they enjoyed behind-the-scenes access to watch the team train, their own field-level suite and more.

Behind the Scenes of Star of the Seas: Installing the AquaDome

September 2024 – Going behind the scenes of Royal Caribbean’s construction of the highly anticipated Star of the Seas, the installation of the AquaDome’s 367-ton (332 tonnes) dome is a sight – and feat – of iconic proportions. At the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland, the largest glass and steel structure to ever be lifted onto a cruise ship is a days-long process that takes months of planning. The installation also marks the next phase of work, when it all starts to come to life with the buildout of the neighborhood’s restaurants, bars and the deck-defying entertainment venue, the signature AquaTheater. In August 2025, Star debuts as the next combination of every vacation in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida.
