February 2023 – And then there were two: Royal Caribbean International’s second ship in the revolutionary Icon Class is officially underway with the first cut of steel. To celebrate the initial construction milestone for the next in the lineup of the world’s best family vacations, a traditional steel-cutting ceremony was held at Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland. The soon-to-be-named ship will set sail in 2025, following Icon of the Seas’ debut in January 2024.

September 2022 – Royal Caribbean International “broke ground” on Icon of the Seas in June 2021, when the first piece of steel was cut at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland.
